MAACK  Open-Air Museum of Contemporary Art.  CASACALENDA_MOLISE

Kalenarte and its open-air museum: a realized utopia. Kalenarte 1990/2019. Almost thirty years for a job, a fortune for the benefit of a territory as Molise.
The MAACK - open-air museum of contemporary art KALENARTE 1 is a diffused museum project born in 1992 from an idea of Massimo Palumbo 2 . It is located in Casacalenda, a small town in Molise, between streets, views, woods and squares . The MAACK aims to re-read neglected or anonymous places in the country by linking art, architecture and territory.
Internationally renowned artists have conceived and produced more than twenty works in direct contact with the atmosphere of the ancient village, some of which went to make up the Civic Gallery of Contemporary Art Franco Libertucci. The gallery, founded in 1997 and renovated in 2007, is located in the city hall of Casacalenda and was born as a complementary project of MAACK - KALENARTE Open-Air Museum of Contemporary Art.
